To provide gold star care to all patients, no matter the species, size, chronic condition, weight, age, breed, or behavior. Every pet is special and deserves the best care.
To educate our clients so that they can be more than just a customer receiving goods and services, but a partner in their pet’s health journey.
To nurture our employees in their veterinary skills and professional growth so that they may be advocates for patient health, assets to the hospital, and contributing members of our community.
We are trusted by our clients and our patients. We want to be seen as an authority on each patient’s health and our clients know we do what is best for their pet's wellbeing.
We contribute to our local community. We take pride in the fact that we are a small business and believe there is nothing more important than cultivating our local community; we are a member of our neighborhood and the world at large.
We never have to turn a patient away because of their physical or mental condition. Every patient deserves our time and our focus and to be treated with respect and compassion.
TRANSPARENCY in our practices, our protocols, our invoicing, and our diagnoses.
Our clients know exactly the care their pet is receiving and the reasoning behind our costs. We want everyone we serve to feel informed on each step of their visit.
COMPASSION towards all animals and all people. We believe animals are sentient beings and each client is worthy and deserving of compassion and respect.
RESPONSIBILITY to ourselves, our community, our clients, and our patients. We believe in practicing accountability towards both individuals and our neighborhood.
We are an AAHA-accredited, privately owned small animal hospital in Pasadena, MD, just minutes from beautiful Downs Park. We offer a mix of traditional and integrative veterinary care for dogs, cats, and exotic pets — including birds, reptiles, and small mammals.
We are currently seeking a General Practice Veterinarian to join our team. You should be comfortable working with dogs and cats, if you do not have exotic animal experience, we require an interest in training in their care.
Do you wish you had more time to spend with your clients and patients?
Are you frustrated by having to rush through appointments or skip important details due to time constraints?
Would you like to feel more connected to your local community?
Do you enjoy diving deep into complex cases and practicing thoughtful, individualized medicine?
At Happy Tails, we understand that quality care takes time. That’s why we operate as a High-Touch, Low-Volume Hospital. This model prioritizes longer appointment times, robust diagnostics, and thorough client education — all to support meaningful, long-term patient relationships.
We’re looking for someone who is less focused on the number of patients seen per day and more passionate about improving each patient’s quality and length of life. We want our next doctor to treat patients like family and enjoy the freedom to practice comprehensive medicine without feeling rushed.
